  1. Use this cycle gadget to indicate which handshaking protocols are used
  2. by your synth.

  4.       NO HANDSHAKE:   Synth does not use handshaking.
  5.  
  6.       ROLAND RQ1 RQD: Roland RQD shaking will take place using ACK, DAT,
  7.                       ERR and RJC messages.  Don't be concerned with
  8.                       entering the ACK, ERR and RJC.  They happen behind
  9.                       the scenes.  Just enter the RQD msg on the center
  10.                       line of the GET command.  Then move to the SEND
  11.                       command and enter the WSD msg on the First line
  12.                       and its DAT msg on the center line.

  14.                       Roland RQ1 communications will occur if you enter
  15.                       an RQ1 msg on the center line of the GET command
  16.                       and a DT1 msg on the center line of the SEND
  17.                       command.

  19.       CASIO CZ SHAKE: Casio CZ handshaking will take place.
  20.  
  21.       SIMPLE SHAKE:   Simple handshaking just might suffice for a synth
  22.                       who's handshaking scheme is not directly supported.

  24.                       GET FROM SYNTH - A preparation command may be
  25.                       entered on the "First" line in the Driver Creator
  26.                       window.  The command that actually requests the
  27.                       data must be entered on the center line.  After
  28.                       the center line command has been sent, this hand-
  29.                       shaking method will expect a short acknowledgment
  30.                       message (ending with an F7) in reply.  After the
  31.                       acknowledgement message has been received,  the
  32.                       command entered on the "Last" line will be sent,
  33.                       and it is expected that the synth will send the
  34.                       requested sysex data.

  36.                       SEND TO SYNTH - Use the "First" line in the Driver
  37.                       Creation window to enter the command which notifies
  38.                       your synth that you want to send it data.  After
  39.                       this command is sent, this handshaking method will
  40.                       expect a short acknowledgment message (ending with
  41.                       an F7) in reply.  After the acknowledgement is re-
  42.                       ceived the command entered on the center line will
  43.                       be sent, and it is assumed that this sysex packet
  44.                       will contain the data (-D) that you want to send
  45.                       to your synth.  A follow up command may be entered
  46.                       on the "Last" line.

  48.       BANK ITEMS USE -P:  NO handshaking!  However, bank items are sent
  49.                       and retrieved one item at a time.  The -P (patch
  50.                       number offset) is initialized to the Patch Min
  51.                       value and is incremented for each subsequent SEND
  52.                       or GET.

  54.       ROLAND RQ1 BULK:  Use this method of communications for Roland
  55.                       synths which return more than one sysex packet
  56.                       when you send them one (1) GET command.
